The 2nd International Symposium on Physics and Applications, 2nd ISPA or ISPA 2021, was held from November 13 to 14, 2021 at the Department of Physics, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), following the successful 1st ISPA held on December 13 to 14, 2020. The event was organized by the Department of Physics, Faculty of Sciences and Data Analytics, ITS. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and travel restrictions, ISPA 2021 was conducted via Zoom Meeting. Additionally, the symposium received support from Airlangga University, State University of Surabaya, National Central University Taiwan, and National University of Singapore. This Proceedings issue compiles oral presentations that were submitted by the authors and rigorously reviewed by a special committee designated by the American Institute of Physics (AIP) Conference Proceedings editor for ISPA 2021. The paper has been published, it can be accessed at the following address : https://pubs.aip.org/aip/acp/issue/2604/1

We hope to foster research collaborations that support and enhance the quality of research in physics and its applications. We express our gratitude to the organizing and editorial committee for their active contributions in creating a well-balanced scientific program. We also extend our thanks to the graduate students who actively participated, the keynote and invited speakers, as well as the participants who presented their work at ISPA 2021. The organizing and editorial committee, keynote and invited speakers are listed below.

In the symposium, we invited 6 keynote speakers and 5 invited speakers from Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, Germany, India, and Indonesia. The symposium has successfully obtained positive responses from researchers by collecting significant and qualified 88 papers for oral presentations that have selected from 93 abstracts received. The presenters and participants are shown in Figure 1. The all papers are included addressing the research topics of the conference including theoretical physics, laser and optoelectronics, instrumentation and acoustics, earth sciences (geophysics), bio and medical physics, and material physics.

In the symposium, we invited 6 keynote speakers and 5 invited speakers from Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, Germany, India, and Indonesia. The symposium has successfully obtained positive responses from researchers, resulting in the collection of 88 significant and high-quality papers for oral presentations. These papers were carefully selected from a total of 93 received abstracts. The presenters and participants are depicted in Figure 1. All papers included in the symposium address various research topics, such as theoretical physics, laser and optoelectronics, instrumentation and acoustics, earth sciences (geophysics), bio and medical physics, and material physics.

The symposium is arranged for two days, the first day consisted of 3 keynote speakers, 3 invited speakers and 45 participants. As the first keynote speaker in plenary session, Prof. How-Wei Chen from (NCU), Taiwan, gave an excellent presentation on “Geothermal Exploration, Heat Flow Simulation in 1, 2 and 3D Media and Ambient Noise Full Waveform Inversion” (Figure 2). Keynote speakers present in plenary rooms (all participants the symposium) consecutively. Each keynote speaker will deliver their respective topic in the 30-40 minutes. Then the discussion (question and answer) between keynote speaker and audiences will be conducted in 10-20 minutes.
